Birmingham is a shopper's paradise and the city has become the region's shopping capital, with an enormous number of shops, department stores and malls. Central Birmingham is also busy and offers a wide range of retail options seven days a week, including many top fashion outlets, featuring the latest designer clothes.

With pedestrianised streets and a relaxed atmosphere, Birmingham city centre makes shopping an enjoyable pastime, with some the most popular locations include New Street, Corporation Street, Caxtongate Street and the Pavilion Central. Throughout the city centre there are countless top fashion outlets, such as Benetton, Diesel, French Connection, Jigsaw, and Levi's, together with a number of large and historic department stores.



Birmingham's new Bullring shopping complex was Europe's largest retail project and cost more than GBP 500 million. With excellent facilities and over 130 shops, cafés and restaurants, the shimmering Bullring complex has truly redefined the city centre. The city centre successfully combines a mixture of classical architecture and historic buildings, with more modern and stylish designs.

Opening Hours

Most shops in Birmingham open seven days a week, throughout the year, opening around 09:00 until 17:30 or later. On Sunday, opening hours are generally shorter than the rest of the week.

Arcadian Centre
