The Bullring
The Bullring shopping centre is very popular. There are lots of shops to go to, and the building was mostly clean, but in some areas there was a small amount of dirt, but that was not a problem when I went. To avoid paying for the car park, the Digbeth area is a good place to park.

The Birmingham Botanical Gardens are an oasis in an otherwise loud and brash city. They are close to the city centre and regularly have something special and of seasonal interest, like daffodils and camelias in the spring, Alpine gardens and flower borders in the summer, and nice autumnal colours. I was interested to look around the beautiful gardens and the National Collection of Bonsai trees, which appeared to be housed in some kind of horticultural prison.

A Family Day Out at Drayton Manor Park
The Drayton Manor Theme Park is located in the grounds of Drayton Manor, close to Tamworth and Birmingham. This is a really big park and covers almost 300 acres. It was one of the first of its kind in this part of the UK and actually opened in 1949, although it was much smaller then. It was regularly been voted as one of the country's top attractions for families and were had a really wonderful time here. There were lots of roller coasters if you are feeling braves, like the StormForce, Apocalypse and the Shockwave, where you actually stand up. There are also lots of tamer rides for younger children, roundabouts and things like that. We were on a budget and so chose to take a picnic, but there were lots of nice looking places to eat if you needed to. There was even a zoo with tigers.

Birmingham Chocaholics - Go To Cadbury World
Even if you don't particularly like chocolate, I can recommend Cadbury World - but if you are a chocoholic like me, well then, you must pay a visit. It is quite an experience and of course, the best bit is tasting some of the produce. There are regular demonstrations, a restaurant and a shop should you wish to purchase some... yes, you've guessed it - chocolate!
