Sunny image of the Caudan Waterfront in Port LouisIts location in the south-west Indian Ocean means that Mauritius enjoys a tropical climate all year round. The weather is warm and sunny throughout the year, although temperatures tend to be slightly cooler in the winter than in the summer.

For this reason, many visitors choose to holiday here during the winter, to escape extremes of heat and to enjoy a drier climate during their stay.
