Madrid Weather, When to Go and Climate Information
(Madrid, Spain)
Madrid is the sunniest city in Europe and has more hours of sunshine than any other capital. Spring and summer are great times to visit the city of Madrid, as the weather is warm and generally quite sunny. July and August are especially hot and the heat can be uncomfortable when sightseeing.
During this time many of the locals head for cooler climates and the traffic becomes noticeably reduced and footpaths less busy. May, June, September and early October are sunny months, with very warm temperatures.

Winters are often sunny, but the evenings can become quite cold and crisp, although the air is refreshing and at this time of the year occasional snowfalls are not uncommon. Madrid can experience extremes in temperatures as the city is fairly elevated in the centre of Spain.
