Santander Airport (SDR) Information
(Santander, Cantabria, Spain)
Santander Airport is the only air gateway to northern Spain's centrally located autonomous community of Cantabria, known as 'Green Spain' for its lush landscape. Over the past decade or so, Santander Airport's annual passenger traffic figures have skyrocketed to well over one million visitors per annum.
Vueling has recently joined Ryanair on the budget carrier list. In addition to roughly 15 direct Ryanair destinations, the airport also operates year-long Iberia flights to
Madrid and
Barcelona, as well as seasonal
Tenerife and
Gran Canaria connections. Seasonal Volotea flights to
Menorca and
Ibiza are also available.
This small facility has expanded dramatically in recent years to better handle its rapidly growing passenger traffic. Of note, Santander Airport's hours are quite general, with the complex opening early in the morning and closing an hour or so before midnight.
