Paphos Hotels and Accommodation

(Paphos, Cyprus)

Beachfront viewThe accommodation scene in Paphos is very much aimed towards large package tour groups and package holidays. Therefore, independent travellers may well find it a little difficult to book some hotels, especially during the busy Cyprus summers.

However, that said, if Paphos hotels have the space, they will happily provide accommodation at short notice, since they are always keen to achieve the highest occupancy levels possible. The resort of Paphos caters well for families with young children, and hotels are never far from beaches, the popular Pafos Aquarium and the acclaimed Aphrodite Waterpark.

Where to Stay

The majority of hotels and apartments here tend to be situated within the Lower Paphos area and stand fairly close to each other. Accommodation closest to the beach is always in demand, with many excellent hotels standing along the beach promenade. Advance bookings between May and October are essential.

Reliable hotels in the Ktima area of Paphos include the Agapinor Hotel on the Nikodimou Mylona, the Kiniras Hotel on the Arhiepiskopou Makariou III and the Axiothea on the Ivis Mallioti.

Image of local hotel, complete with swimming poolBudget travellers and backpackers in this part of Cyprus tend to favour the HI Hostel on the Leoforos Evagora Eleftheriou Venizelou, off the Leoforos Evagora Pallikaridi, although this youth hostel is a little rundown and a fair trek from the beaches.

The Kato Pafos part of the city is overflowing with fairly characterless accommodation, with pricey lodging rates and some rooms overlooking the Mediterranean. Hotels in this region often accept walk-ins, with the most approachable including the Dionysos on the Dionysou, the Pyramos Hotel on the Agias Anastasias, and both the Annabelle and the Porto Paphos on the Posidonos (Poseidonos).
