Perth Golf Courses and Clubs

Spread around the city of Perth are numerous popular golf courses, many of which welcome members of the public. Located on the eastern side of the city centre is the Burswood Park Golf Course, which lies alongside Belmont Park and the Swan River, and can be reached via the Graham Farmer Freeway.

Also very much of note and located on the south-western side of Perth is the Nedlands Golf Club. Visitors will find the Nedlands surrounded by ancient Eucalyptus trees, some of which are more than three centuries old. Whilst this is only a nine-hole course, it does boast a championship layout, with two teeing areas offering an outward and inward arrangement, should you wish to play a round of 18 here.

Of course, the Royal Perth Golf Club more than deserves a mention and comes with a lengthy pedigree, being established all the way back in 1895 and formerly located on Burswood Island. After a short spell at Belmont, the club finally relocated to its present setting on the south side of the city, next to Richardson Park and just a stroll away from the city zoo.

Botanic Miniature Golf Course

Royal Perth Golf Club

Not only does the Royal Perth Golf Club offer 18 excellent holes, it has also become known for its restaurant and catering facilities. However, this is a private members club, meaning that any golfer hoping to play a round here needs to first be invited by an existing member, whilst already being a member of another club.

The Joondalup Country Club lies to the north of the city, close to Joondalup, where it is a breathtaking golf course with 27 holes and a par of 72. The course itself covers around 6,300 metres / 20,660 feet and is highly regarded in Western Australia.

Based in the easterly Maylands neighbourhood and just to the north of the Maylands Foreshore Reserve, the Peninsula Golf Course is an excellent 18-hole course with many scenic views. Covering around 5,555 metres / 18,220 feet, the course has much to offer golfers, including enviable panoramas of the Swan River. Nearby, the Berringa Reserve, Bardon Park, Lake Bungana and Lake Brearley are notable attractions for family members.
