Getting Around, Trenton Travel, Transport and Car Rental

(Trenton, New Jersey - NJ, USA)

The New Jersey Transit Corporation (NJT) supports the city of Trenton and offers a comprehensive network of statewide public transport. Various travel options service the entire state of New Jersey, as well as much of the neighboring states of New York and Pennsylvania.

Since Trenton is so central in New Jersey, those who choose a rental car as their sole mode of transport will be able to travel around the whole state with relative ease, thanks to the proximity of a number of major highways. These include the Lincoln Highway US-1, which is also known as the Trenton Freeway and heads to the northeasterly North Brunswick Township and to the southwest, crossing the state border to reach Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

Of note, a Park and Ride facility is available on Greenwood Avenue / Walnut Avenue, right next to the New Jersey Transit / Amtrak train station. There are close to 2,000 covered parking spaces here, with charges being applied either per hour, per half-day or per day.
