Trenton Hotels and Accommodation

If you are planning a trip to Trenton and expecting a big choice of hotels, then you will probably be disappointed to find a rather limited selection of accommodation in this state capital.

There are a number of familiar chain hotels dotted around the city, offering affordable and reliable lodging, although you will need to do a spot of research to find one in your chosen location. For many, the smaller B&Bs and guest houses are the preferred option in Trenton.

Based in downtown Trenton, the Lafayette Yard Hotel and Conference Center on West Lafayette Street boasts accommodation in a convenient central location, close to the Delaware River and Highway Route-29. Formerly a Marriott hotel, the Lafayette Yard is well-placed for tourists happy to explore the city on foot, being just a matter of minutes away from top attractions such as the New Jersey State House, the New Jersey State Museum, Mill Hill Park and the Patriots Theater at the War Memorial.

Where to Stay

On the northern side of the city, the Budget Inn on New York Avenue lies just off the Trenton Freeway US Route-1. The lodging here may be cheap and basic, but it is worth bearing in mind that the scenic Delaware and Raritan Canal State Park Trail is just across the road from the hotel - and the Monsignor Lipinski Park is even closer.

Located on the other side of the Delaware River and across the state border, in the neighboring suburb town of Morrisville (PA) is the Comfort Inn on South Pennsylvania Avenue. Offering budget accommodation and modern amenities, the Comfort Inn is easy to reach from central Trenton if you have a car, since it is connected by the East Bridge Street bridge.

On the northwesterly outskirts of the city, the Ewing Township is where you will find both the Courtyard by Marriott Hotel and the SpringHill Suites Ewing Princeton, close to the Trenton Mercer Airport.

Head to the northeastern side of Trenton and further accommodation is available in the nearby Lawrence Township, such as the Red Roof Inn on the Brunswick Pike, just off interstates I-95 and I-295, close to the Mercer Mall. Travel further along the Brunswick Pike and you will soon reach the Extended Stay Motel and the Clarion Palmer Inn.
