Trenton Restaurants and Dining

(Trenton, New Jersey - NJ, USA)

There are numerous restaurants and small eateries literally spread all over the center of Trenton. This means that wherever you are staying, sightseeing or shopping, you can be assured that decent dining options are never more than a matter of minutes away.

Shoppers and sightseers inevitably find themselves drawn to downtown Trenton and restaurants here are in particularly good supply along the principal thoroughfares, such as South Broad Street, Chambers Street, South Clinton Avenue, Hamilton Avenue and Liberty Street.

Various eateries present themselves to potential diners on the western side of Trenton city center, especially around the New Jersey State House. Located on West Front Street and close to the State House is the Eleven Front Bar and Grill, which is known for its tasty meatball sandwiches and Italian-inspired dining. Nearby, the Hummingbird Restaurant and the Rainbowtown Chinese Restaurant both reside on South Warren Street and offer popular alternatives.

Where to Eat

In the neighborhood of Chambersburg (Trenton's very own Little Italy), just to the south of the city center, are many additional restaurants based around Cummings Avenue, Emory Avenue and Morris Avenue. These eateries include the likes of the acclaimed Amici Milano, an Italian-style dining establishment where clam and mussel-based appetizers can be followed by veal-themed dishes, various chicken and pasta combinations, and grilled steaks.

If you are in Trenton with children, then make a beeline for DeLorenzo's Pizza Restaurant on Hamilton Avenue, close to Pancho's Grocery Deli. DeLorenzo's has been serving up pizzas in New Jersey's capital since the late 1930s and is known for its signature 'Trenton-style' thin crusts, with a choice of toppings. Chick and Nello's Homestead Inn on Kuser Road is also known for its mouthwatering pizzas, as is Mamma Flora's Trattoria on North Olden Avenue.

For the juiciest burgers in Trenton, and possibly the whole of New Jersey, pay a visit to Rossi's Bar and Grill on Morris Avenue, near the Wetzel Field. Italian-style fare also features on the dining menu here, while diners will be able to enjoy an impressive selection of baseball memorabilia.

Those who enjoy a spot of sushi dining should be sure to dine out at the Kenji Fusion Restaurant, on the eastern outskirts of Trenton, close to the Hamilton Township. Many further Asian delicacies are served up here, such as noodle and rice dishes, and steaks cooked with a traditional Japanese charcoal stove (hibachi).
