Alicante Airport (ALC) Information

(Benidorm, Costa Blanca, Spain)

Spain's Alicante Airport is situated to the south-west of the leading resort of Benidorm. Almost ten million passengers use this facility each year, with the majority flying into and out of the airport via international flights. In addition to Benidorm, the nearby cities of Alicante and Elche are also served by the resident airlines.

According to passenger numbers and cargo statistics, this international gateway is among Europe's 50 busiest airports. Even though there are technically three terminals at the facility, only the New Terminal is currently operating. Terminals 1 and 2 are no longer functioning.

Ryanair is the primary carrier at the airport. It flies to numerous international and domestic destinations, including Barcelona, Bremen, Bologna, Krakow and Stockholm. Other major airlines operating from the New Terminal include easyJet, Air Berlin, Iberia and Norwegian Air Shuttle.

Even though the airport sits about an hour's drive away from Benidorm, motorists can still access the facility with relative ease. Follow this route for several kilometres south until the N-338 turn-off. The New Terminal is located along this service road. Alicante can be reached via the northbound A-79, while Elche is within ten minutes' drive westbound on the A-79.
