Orlando Churches and Cathedrals

(Orlando, Florida - FL, USA)

Orlando and its metropolitan area are blessed with a wealth of churches, both in the city center and around the suburbs of Edgewood, Fairview Shores, Holden Heights, Lockhart, Oak Ridge, Pine Hills and Winter Park, amongst others.

Particularly important in the city is the very centrally located Cathedral Church of St. Luke, which stands on North Magnolia Avenue, close to Lake Eola Park and the Orange County Regional History Center. Home of the famous Orlando Deanery Boychoir, St. Luke's dates back to 1902, although moved to its present location some 20 years later, being replaced with its more impressive structure of today.

Literally just across the road is St. James Cathedral on North Orange Avenue, which began its life at the end of the 19th century, being rebuilt in 1952 when a grand dedication ceremony took place.
