Pisa Hotels and Accommodation

(Pisa, Tuscany, Italy)

Although Pisa may not be the biggest and most exciting city in Italy, it certainly warrants more than just a day trip, and hotels with availability are usually not overly difficult to come by. Accommodation in the very heart of Pisa tends to be less touristy and offers more of a taster of local Italian life than the lodging based around the famous Leaning Tower, Baptistery and Duomo cathedral.

Worth bearing in mind, during the academic year, a sizable proportion of the cheapest hotels in Pisa tend to be filled by local students. If money is no object, then a room overlooking the Leaning Tower itself must be the ultimate in accommodation, although even just a glimpse of the 'torre' comes at a price.

As for all Italian hotels, those in Pisa are graded on the one to five star-rating systems. However, as each Italian province uses its own regulations of classification, visitors will experience diversity in each division throughout Italy.

Despite this, as a coastal city, Pisa hotels are of a high quality due to the city's popularity during summer months. Off-season (November to March) hotel prices in Pisa are cheaper and frequently open to negotiation.

Pisa accommodation can range from staying at a campsite, hostel, budget hotels in the centre of Pisa or at Tuscan villa hotels, just a short car journey from the city. It is unusual to find difficulties in booking a room in Pisa as many visitors to the city are only there on a day excursion. Nonetheless, making an advance reservation is always advisable. Alternatively, consider looking for lodging nearby, in the neighbouring city of Lucca, or the nearby town of Calci.
