(Dingle, County Kerry, Republic of Ireland)

View of the town's harbourfrontAlthough Dingle does not have its own airport, Kerry Airport is only an hour away and there are regular flights here from the UK and Dublin. There is also the option of flying to Cork or Shannon and taking ground transportation from there.

Trains do not serve Dingle, yet the journey from Tralee and Killarney (the nearest train stations), is under an hour by bus transport or taxis. The best way to travel around Dingle is on foot as it is only a small town, while transport around the peninsula is provided by minibus and taxi services. Travel by rental car is also a good option.

Car Rental

A rental car gives the best way to loop the Dingle Peninsula. Cars can be rented at either of the above airports and you can pre-book online ahead of time to save any hassle on arrival. This is especially worthwhile in the peak summer season or July and August, as you may not get the car you prefer if you wait until you arrive. The route to Dingle from Kerry Airport runs west along the N70.
