Where to Shop

A good selection of shops are to be found around Leipzig's Madler Passage and the adjacent Königshaus-und Messehofpassage, where fashion stores and upmarket shopping opportunities abound. The Madler shopping arcade is always worth a visit and known for its historic buildings and period architecture. One of the grandest shopping centres in the whole of Leipzig, the Madler arcade is surrounded by further arcades and clusters of shops.

Particularly notable in this area is the Specks Hof shopping centre, which can be found next to St. Nicholas's Church Square and is brimming with shops. Relatively new additions to the ever-improving shopping scene in Leipzig include the arcades in Petersbogen, Städtisches Kaufhaus and also Strohsack-Passage.

The Central Train Station (Hauptbahnhof Promenaden) in Leipzig is much more than just a major local transport hub, it is home to the enormous Hauptbahnhof shopping centre. With around 150 different shops and stores, many of which remain open until as late as 22:00 Monday through Friday, Leipzig's Hauptbahnhof shopping centre will not disappoint and you are sure to leave with far more than you came for.
