London Weather, When to Go and Climate Information
(London, England, UK)
In the summer, between May and August, the climate in London can often get extremely hot and humid and therefore light clothing is perfect. Wear whatever is the most comfortable and suitable clothing for you and you will be sure to blend in. Very hot days and extremes are becoming less unusual and being a big city, temperatures in London are warmest in the very centre.
There is much less rain in the summer, but the United Kingdom has very changeable weather and it is not unusual for a sunny day to quickly turn into a rainy day.
Winters can be long and damp so be sure to bring a thick overcoat or waterproof jacket, together with scarf and gloves. Snow is infrequent, but there are often cold, clear, frosty days. If you are planning to visit outdoor locations, water-resistant shoes are sensible, with a good grip, as wet pavements can become slippery in rainy weather, and an umbrella can be a useful item to carry.
