Markets

Full of character and real life, the busy markets in Poole are an integral part of Poole's local life. They provide a great place to find bargains in Poole or to just browse around the wide variety of stalls and enjoy the exciting atmosphere and local Poole market banter. Poole's bustling markets range from the very large to a small, discreet collection of stalls, situated in quiet districts of Poole.

The historic Poole markets were first established over 500 years ago and the market tradition has recently been revived. Poole's regular, bustling markets are held around Poole's Georgian Guildhall and the Poole Market House. Another popular market in Poole is the French Street Market, which takes place along Poole Quay in mid-September, selling fresh garlic, onions, bread, cheese and lots of other typical French food.

Markets are held in many neighborhoods of Poole and provide a fun way to shop, for both experienced and novice bargain hunters alike. It is worth noting that most market stands do not usually accept credit cards for purchases. Prices at Poole markets are not generally fixed and so friendly haggling is often a good idea, to try and reduce the price.
