Cabo San Lucas is served by the neighbouring Los Cabos International Airport, which features government-operated minibus transport, offering travel to and from the Plaza Las Glorias every two hours between the hours of 10:00 and 16:00.

Public transport within Cabo San Lucas comes in the form of buses and allows visitors to travel to many parts of the city, together with a range of long-distance destinations within Mexico. There are countless car rental transport firms located along the Boulevard Marina, Matamoros and also elsewhere around Cabo San Lucas, being charged on a daily or weekly basis.

Los Cabos International Airport is the closest airport to Cabo San Lucas and lies nearby, on the northern side of San José del Cabo. Featuring three terminals, Los Cabos Airport serves airlines flying in from destinations around Mexico and also abroad, such as Chicago, Dallas, Los Angeles, New York and other major US cities. Car rental, taxi transport and air-conditioned transfer shuttles are all popular travel options at the airport.

Car Rental

Many of the car rental travel companies within Cabo San Lucas include familiar US-based brands and are often extremely good value and particularly useful for day trips to coastal areas, such as the Los Barriles area. BMW motorcycle hire and scooters are also popular alternative modes of transport. Other nearby destinations easily reached by rental vehicles include both San José del Cabo and Todos Santos.

Buses and Coaches

Long-distance bus transport provides travels to and from Cabo San Lucas, being operated by Aguila. The Cabo San Lucas bus station is located on the northern side of the downtown district, next to the Todos Santos crossroads, while a smaller terminal is nearby, on the corner of Hidalgo and 5 de Febrero. Popular destinations connected by bus transport include La Paz, Loreto, Tijuana, Todos Santos and San José del Cabo.


Taxis are easy to find around Cabo San Lucas and in general, the rates can be negotiated. Always try to agree the price before you begin your journey.
