Photo of trail routeThe transportation needs of visitors to Lake Louise are adequately met by local buses, which travel around the village and to a number of outlying locations. Those visiting Lake Louise during the summer months may be interested to use the Vista shuttle buses, which transport passengers to Moraine Lake every 30 minutes, from 08:30 until 19:30 or thereabouts, stopping at various places of interest en-route.

Day trips are especially easy for those with their own set of wheels and many enjoy the unmatchable freedom provided by using a hire car to meet your transport needs. Highway 1 (the Trans Canada Highway) is one of the main roads in this region, while the Bow Valley Parkway (1A) offers a slower, more leisurely travel alternative, being close to the Johnston Canyon.
