Spread around the Banff National Park are a series of different golf courses, all of which are close to Lake Louise and just a relatively short drive away. Golf courses around Lake Louise take full advantage of the wonderful natural scenery and tend to be clustered in location such as Banff, Canmore and the Kananaskis Village, where golfers will always enjoy a round or two at the 36-hole Kananaskis Country Golf Course and Club.

Close to the Fairmont Banff Springs Hotel, the popular Fairmont Banff Springs Golf Course offers both an 18-hole course, and a further nine holes, along with an academy, experienced instructors, and even the occasional wandering elk or moose throw in for good measure.


For the more experienced players staying in Lake Louise, the championship SilverTip Golf Club in Canmore is sure to please, with bunkers, practice greens, driving ranges and also a professional shop.

Do note that most clubs close during the snowy winter months and only open between April and October, usually from dawn to sunset.
