Being located right next to the South Atlantic Ocean, those spending time sunbathing on the beaches of the Costa Verde area will find that the high temperatures are often cooled by refreshing trade winds. Tourists frequently choose to visit Paraty between May and August, when the climate is at its most pleasant and temperatures average around 26°C / 79°F. However, if you are planning an excursion into the mountains of Itatiaia, do be aware that it will feel much colder.
