Re. Just like Heaven
Those that enjoyed the historical guided walking tour that Mr / Mrs Page mentioned can get even more history at Paraty Historical City National Monument. This is the building that the locals are so proud of and they will be more than happy to take a photo of you if you ask them kindly.

Just like Heaven
Paraty Bay is as close to Heaven as I am ever likely to get, and I thoroughly enjoyed its beaches. People more interested in the bay's history can get historical guided walking tours any time they wish, although it doesn't hurt to book in advance!

The peak
The Mamangua Sugarloaf Peak is where I enjoyed the best views of a city in my short but eventful life. It is so dramatic, yet comfortable to reach the top at the same time. You also have to make your way through the rainforest, which was fine by me!

Don't go chasing waterfalls
Toboga Waterfall is simply wonderful and I slid down it a handful of times without causing harm to myself or others. It is fun and easy to access, although I wish we had rented a yellow jeep like I saw so many people doing.

Entertaining show
Our children enjoyed the puppet show at the theatre even though they don't speak a word of Portuguese. They loved it so much that they wanted to stay for the next show, which wasn't until another three hours. 'Grupo contadores de estorias' is the name of the group, for reference.
