Sharm el Sheikh Museums

(Sharm el Sheikh, Egypt)

Picture taken outside of the Chapel of the Burning BushSharm el Sheikh is not a destination to visit if you wish to be immersed in museums and galleries. Whilst there are a number of cultural sights to see, museums and art galleries are somewhat lacking around the city.

Cairo is just a few hours away by car and can be visited by those wanting to learn more about Egypt's long history and culture, being home to plenty of museums and similar historical attractions. Within Sharm el Sheikh itself, the Sinai Heritage Museum at El-Arish is often of interest.

El-Arish / Sinai Heritage Museum

El-Arish is located on the Mediterranean coast of the Sinai Peninsula and is regarded as being the most important centre for Bedouin handicrafts in Sinai. The on-site Sinai Heritage Museum is the only museum in the peninsula dedicated to Bedouins and their culture, being full of old handicrafts, artefacts, clothing and many other fascinating exhibits.
