Those wishing to play a round of golf in the city of Charleston will find plenty of courses to choose from, meaning that wherever you are based, you shouldn't have far to travel to reach the greens.

Particularly popular and central is the City of Charleston Golf Course, which is often simply known as the 'Muni' and resides on the western side of the city center, on the Maybank Highway, alongside the Riverland Terrace and just down the road from the James Island Shopping Center.

The City Course boasts a lengthy heritage and dates back to 1929. Over the years, it has played host to a number of tournaments, including the South Carolina State Championship, while the course stages the Charleston City Amateur on an annual basis.
