The Archaeological Museum of Alicante is housed in the city's former Hospital de San Juan de Dios and is home to an array of local artefacts. This award-winning museum contains a number of large collections, displaying many important, ancient and archaeological treasures found in the Alicante area, offering a real insight into the history of the city.

Alicante's impressive Museum of Fine Arts offers an extensive collection of paintings, sculptures, textiles, furniture and antiques. Featuring works by a number of notable artists, exhibits date from the Middle Ages onwards. Founded at the end of 2001, more than 500 paintings are on display at the museum at any one time.
