Nice's Russian Orthodox cathedral is one of the city's top tourist attractions. Built by Russian Tsar Nicholas in the early 1900s, this church boasts some particularly fine wood work, as well as an extensive icon collection, and many other historic objects.

Monastère Notre Dame de Cimiez

Take a trip up the hill into the Cimiez district, and you will be rewarded by a visit to this historic monastery. Today, the 17th-century buildings of the Monastère Notre Dame de Cimiez are put to use in helping visitors find out about how the monastery's Franciscan monks lived their daily lives. Inside the church itself are several medieval masterpieces.

Neptune Beach

Nice's beaches always feature among its top tourist attractions. Nepture is a popular private beach area, accessed from the Promenade des Anglais. Cathédrale de Sainte Réparate
Nestled among the narrow streets of Vieux Nice is the baroque cathedral of Sainte Réparate. Although the main building dates from the 17th century, the most notable attractions are its 18th-century bell tower and distinctive tiled dome.

Palais Lascaris (Lascaris Palace)

Palais Lascaris is one of Nice's historic gems. This richly decorated 17th-century palace boasts an opulent interior, complete with sweeping staircases and vaulted ceilings. An added attraction is the building's restored 18th-century pharmacy.

Basilique Notre Dame

This basilica's Gothic exterior belies the fact that it was actually built in 1868.
