Newquay Cornwall Airport (NQY) Information

(Newquay, Cornwall, England, UK))

The main air gateway into the English county of Cornwall is the Newquay Cornwall Airport. The facility handles both commercial passenger and military traffic. Before Cornwall Airport Ltd. took control of the site in December 2008, RAF St. Mawgan was the site's operator. Of note, this hub sits close to many important Cornwall attractions, including the Tate St. Ives and the Eden Project.

Recent renovations and extensions to terminal building have added greater passenger capacity and a more modern, spacious interior. The terminal has increased its size by more than one-fifth over the last decade. Newquay is the closest town to the airport, while Truro and St. Ives are just short drives away along the Cornwall peninsula.

A passenger fee is payable at customs for all passengers departing the airport. Flights to Dusseldorf, the only international route available, are operated by Lufthansa. Other destinations connected to Newquay include Edinburgh, London Gatwick, Manchester, Newcastle, the East Midlands and Glasgow. BmiBaby, Flybe and Loganair are the domestic carriers operating here.
