Newquay Zoo
Don't go if you are expecting a day out because it is quite small. Better prices than the Eden project and we spent a nice 3 1/2 hours there. The penguins are great but our favourite was the red panda. I think the zoo was great but I was expecting it to be bigger. I prefer it to the Eden project as that was not as good.

Eden Project
Overpriced and not for a whole day out. We wanted to get more for our money, so we walked around for hours working out what to do. Grumpy staff made it worse, and the domes are the only good part of it. Not a great idea but if you want to go then think about whether you want to spend at £25 per adult.

Blue Reef Aquarium
We thought we'd come to Newquay in the late winter so that we could save money on accommodation. It really is a lot cheaper at this time of the year. The weather wasn't too bad and on the wet days we did things indoors, like the Blue Reef Aquarium. This is right next to the beachfront and was brilliant. It wasn't particularly big, but was really well laid out and not at all crowded - I would imagine it might be in the summer. The underwater tunnel was brilliant. We spent ages in there.

Crantock
We had a holiday here recently and rented a lovely cottage in the village of Crantock, which is right by Newquay. It was very central to a lot of attractions, including the Eden Project, and even had its very own beach, which was very large. We went to Newquay Zoo one day, which was nice enough, although the children were more interested in the slides and play areas.

Jamie Oliver's Gaff
We thought we'd like to check out Jamie Oliver's Fifteen restaurant at Watergate Bay one day. We thought that the evening meals looks a bit too pricey for us cheapskates, so we decided to have breakfast there. It was a really pleasant experience, mainly because the views of the sea were just incredible and the staff were just so friendly. The breakfast was alright, but it was a big cold. For five of us, it came to around £45, so alright for a treat - it would have been about that much each if we'd come for the evening.
