Cathedral City
Headed to Peterborough to see the Cathedral church, but got so much more. The cathedral itself is well worth a visit but what really blew me away was the cosmopolitan feel of this Cambridgeshire town. The malls were really great; perfect for shopaholics.

Re: Cathedral City
I totally agree, the shopping in Peterborough was surprisingly good. Did you head to Queensgate shopping center? It has over 90 stores for shopping, dining and drinking. Such a lively place and It is really central as well.

An Architectural Delight
Being an architect myself, I chose to visit Peterborough after hearing many stories about the unique painted ceiling of the Cathedral and the fan vaulting in the 'new' building. I was not disappointed. The Saxon carvings on the earlier buildings were awe-inspiring. I plan to head back there with my family again soon to marvel at the wonder.

A history lesson without the boredom
I learnt so much on my trip to Peterborough! The exhibition in the cathedral in the North Nave tells about the history of the abbey, going into detail about its function and details of the building process itself. This was really fascinating to me. There is so much history in the other old houses and churches too. A perfect place for a history buff, or even those wanting some old British charm and picturesque scenery.

Full Steam Ahead
A highlight of our trip to Peterborough was boarding the Nene Valley Railway, Steam train. Home of Thomas the Tank engine; this steam train will excite all ages and is a real family treat! We were there when there was no event running, but we will be sure to come back to one of the many Thomas events that they hold throughout the year.
