Between May and September, daytime temperatures around Famagusta regularly hover close to 30°C / 86°F, often peaking at more than 35°C / 95°F in July and August.

The summer climate is also predictably dry and at this time of the year, rainy weather is almost unheard of. Indeed if it does rain in Famagusta, then the showers are rarely more than a little sprinkling.

Seasonal Climate Variations / When to Go

Do bear in mind that although the summer months are perfect for sunbathing, swimming and relaxing in the sun, the climate can feel rather humid at times. Mild summer evenings at Famagusta mean that enjoying a drink or meal in the open-air is commonplace, and the best outdoor eating areas come with impressive coastal views.

An increasing number of holiday makers are now choosing to visit Famagusta during spring and autumn, when temperatures are warm, the weather is still quite sunny, and the air feels more 'fresh' and less humid. April and October are especially good months to choose, since temperatures are generally between 22°C / 72°F to 25°C / 77°F, and rain is still fairly negligible. December and January tend to be the wettest months all over Cyprus, although they also boast plenty of sunny periods.
