Famagusta Shopping and Districts

For many holiday makers and beach-goers, the shopping scene in Famagusta is an unexpected highlight. Good quality souvenirs of
Cyprus are plentiful, and items tend to be relatively inexpensive, particularly when compared to UK prices.
When shopping at Famagusta, expect to find an array of leather goods, including handbags and shoes, together with jewellery, lace, pottery, wines and local Cypriot brandy. You will also see plenty of familiar brand names at the supermarkets, should you need to self-cater, with the best selection being found in nearby Paralimni. Of note, there is also a 24/7 So Easy convenience store at Paralimni.
When to Shop and Opening Hours
Most shops in Famagusta and throughout Cyprus operate different hours during the low and peak seasons. From October to April, shopping hours tend to run from 08:00 until 17:30, often with a lunch break at 13:00 or thereabouts.
Between May and September, shopping hours in Famagusta are much longer, with shops staying open until at least 19:00, and even as late as 22:00. Shops generally close early on Wednesday and Saturdays (with the exception of supermarkets), and only a handful open on Sundays.
