Renting a car is a great way to travel around Innsbruck, with the A12 (east) and adjacent Highway 171 (west) being the main roads. Travellers planning to travel northwards and into Germany should use Highway 177. Buses, Coaches and Trams

The recently updated tram network offers a particularly cheap and convenient way to travel around central Innsbruck, and also to some villages within the Stubaital Valley. Always popular are the TS Sightseer buses, which travel to all of the main attractions, including the Alpenzoo (Alpine Zoo). The board directly outside of the railway station lists all of the current long-distance bus transport, or alternatively, the tourist counter within the station will be happy to help with bus enquiries.
