Five Wonderful Days in Marrakech
We spent five wonderful days in Marrakech, Morocco last autumn. Most memorable part was taking a tour into the rocky desert on quad bikes. The bikes were surprisingly easy to handle and we felt very safe. We passed small, remote villages way out in the desert and could see how these friendly people lived. What a wonderful day we had. The only downside to the whole experience was that is was rather dusty but we would happily do it all again.

Re. Fine cuisine
Ms Haverty, I'm very pleased that you like our food! For anyone else with interest, there is famous class at La Maison Arabe - even if you aren't accommodation at that hotel. Each class is half day.

Fine cuisine
Ever since I shared a house with a French-Moroccan girl at university, I have been fascinated with north African cuisine on the whole, which is why it took me no time at all to sign up for a cooking class on a small farm that was around 20 minutes from Marrakech. I'm not quite a masterchef just yet, but my friends and family tell me that I'm not far off!

A Marrakesh must-see
We didn't come to Marrakesh to enjoy the spas or learn how to cook as we had more of an interest in history. The Ali Ben Youssef Medersa simply has to be seen to be believed! A great historic site that can be quite educational too.

We were so lucky
I felt incredibly lucky to have visited Marrakesh just after its Photography Museum was opened. Apparently it only opened its doors a month prior to us arriving in Morocco. We tried to see as many of the 3500 gathered photos as possible. A cultural highlight!

Serenity in the shade
We asked a taxi driver to take us somewhere for peace and quiet, and how glad we were that he drove us to Majorelle Garden! This small garden has everything - cacti, palm trees, bamboo, you name it. A great place to sit in the shade for an hour.
