Acoma Pueblo

This spectacular walled adobe village is situated high above a sheer rock mesa, 365 feet / 111 meters above the 6,600-foot / 2,011-meter valley floor below. Thought to have been inhabited since the 11th century, if not before, the Acoma Pueblo is the longest continuously occupied community in the US. When visiting, it's important to observe Pueblo etiquette.

The huge Cibola National Forest is located in New Mexico, Texas and Oklahoma, and is part of the Southwestern region.
