Lincoln Hotels and Accommodation

(Lincoln, Nebraska - NE, USA)

As the state capital of Nebraska, Lincoln is a reasonably large and growing city, with much in the way of hotels. The accommodation scene in the city mainly consists of cheap motels and budget lodging along Interstate I-80 (junction 399), and mid-range hotels around the city.

If you are looking for accommodation in downtown Lincoln, then the Cornhusker Marriott on South 13th Street is a fairly reliable bet, coming with solid reviews and a convenient central location, nearby the historic Haymarket district.

A few blocks away and close to the Centennial Mall is the TownHouse Extended Stay Hotel on M Street, which is only a matter of minutes away from top attractions such as both the Nebraska State Capitol and the Pershing Center (a multi-purpose arena). Also close by is the campus of the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, where the Memorial Stadium regularly hosts major American football games to crowds of up to 85,000 spectators.

Where to Stay

Situated in the city center is the Embassy Suites on P Street, nearby the Marcus Grand Cinema, while a couple of blocks away is the extremely popular Holiday Inn Downtown, where lodging rates are always competitively priced.

For budget accommodation in Lincoln, head to the northwesterly outskirts, where lodging options include chains such as the Econo Lodge on the West Cornhusker Highway and the Comfort Inn on West Bond Street.

Close by, Northwest 12th Street is also home to a series of reliable hotels, namely the Days Inn, the Howard Johnson and the Quality Inn. All of these hotels are regularly frequented by business travelers, due to their proximity to the busy Lincoln Municipal Airport.

If you prefer a more personal and homely type of accommodation, then a B&B / guest house in Lincoln may well be preferable to a branded hotel. The downtown Atwood House B&B falls into this category of lodging, being highly recommended and known for its period grandeur.
