Garden of the Gods
To me, the Garden of the Gods is what Colorado Springs is all about and the number one reason to visit this part of Colorado. There are lots of really dramatic rocks and stones, precariously perched here and there. The Balanced Rock is very famous and rightly so, because it is a real head turner and almost looks like it will fall down at any moment, although I'm sure it's really very safe, probably.

Cathedral Spires Rock
I found Cathedral Spires to be the most breathtaking rock in the amazing Garden of the Gods. It is close to the Perkins Central Garden Trail and is just awesome. Because there are a couple of smaller, similar rocks alongside a couple of taller rocks, it has earned in the name of the Cathedral Spires, because it really does look a bit like a church roof, well perhaps if you use your imagination a little.

Going to the Manitou Cliff Dwellings at Colorado Springs
I just couldn't get over how amazing the Manitou Cliff dwelling were and it really is quite difficult to describe. It was certainly not what I expected and it is incredible to think that people once lived here. This ancient civilization must have had quite a hard existence. In total, the dwellings have over forty different rooms, including an area for sleeping and even a lookout tower. There is a good museum here with lots of pottery exhibits and artefacts found here.
