To the southwest of Colorado Springs lies this popular park and entertainment venue. The Royal Gorge Bridge and Park is home to the world's highest suspension bridge with breathtaking views of the deep gorge, the world's longest single-span aerial tram, as well as dozens of amusement park rides, shows, a wildlife park and numerous outdoor attractions.

The best way to fully experience the spectacular Royal Gorge is to take a train trip along the famous railroad. Lasting two hours, popular attractions include a variety of packages, such as lunch and twilight dinner deals. The Royal Gorge train slowly makes its way along the banks of the Arkansas River, passing under the Royal Gorge Bridge that sits 1,000 feet above and passing over the Hanging Bridge, a point so narrow that the bridge hangs above the river suspended from the sheer rock walls. Seven Falls

This is the only waterfall in Colorado to be listed on National Geographic's list of international waterfalls. Just a short drive from central Colorado Springs, visitors to the Seven Falls are able to drive along the picturesque canyon, past the Pillars of Hercules and onto the waterfall, a series of seven distinct falls progressing 181 feet down a granite cliff. An elevator takes visitors to Eagles Nest platform for the best views of the falls, while a series of walking trails lead to sweeping views of Colorado Springs.
