- Colorado Springs Balloon Classic - early September, a perennial favorite held at Memorial Park, this is a prestigious gathering of the country's best balloonists. Also offering musical performances and food and souvenir vendors

- Emma Crawford Festival - late October, held in Manitou Springs is this unique and slightly macabre festival, a coffin race held to remember Emma Crawford, an early 20th century young lady who died young and whose remains were washed down Red Mountain after granite gave way at the top
