Buzios Hotels and Accommodation

(Buzios, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil)

A bustling seaside resort littered with 'pousada' (bed and breakfast style hotels), restaurants and shops, Buzios caters really well to families and couples, although solo travellers will likely find accommodation a little on the expensive side.

The high season in Buzios falls between December and March, while July is also a busy time for hotels here, when demand for accommodation is known to rise, together with lodging rates. April and May are becoming increasingly popular months to holiday in Buzios, since the resort is noticeably quieter, whilst being sunny and relatively dry.

Where to Stay

The most desirable hotels and pousadas in Buzios tend to overlook the stunning bay, making the very most of the town's coastal setting. Proximity to the beachfront is often a requirement for families, with lodging located along the Avenida José Bento Ribeiro Dantas (Rua das Pedras) being especially well-placed for beach access and including Brigitta's Guest House and the budget Nomad Seashore Hostel.

Just a short-distance from the Rua das Pedras, the centrally located Barra da Lagoa Hotel features three-star accommodation within easy reach of the beaches, comprising a series of air-conditioned apartments. Located on the Rua da Brava is the highly recommended Pousada Brava Club Hotel, where gorgeous ocean views and an elevated terrace make your stay all the more memorable.

If money really is no object in Buzios, then luxury accommodation in Latin America rarely comes finer than the acclaimed Glenzhaus Lodge on the Rua dos Coqueiros, which is highly praised by Condé Nast Traveller.
