Cardiff Markets

(Cardiff, South Glamorgan, South Wales, UK)

Cardiff MarketsCardiff contains an interesting selection of markets, and whilst many visitors to the city prefer to explore the glamorous department stores and indoor malls, others like to haggle over the price of their goods with friendly stallholders.

Boasting an extremely central location, Cardiff Central Market is known in Welsh as 'Marchnad Caerdydd' and stands close to both the House of Fraser and the St. John the Baptist City Parish Church, with the entrance situated on St. Mary Street. The building itself is typically Victorian in character and it is believed that markets have been held on this very spot since the 18th century.
