Bodrum Shopping and Districts

(Bodrum, Mugla, Turkey)

Picture of local storesThe combination of sunshine and shopping makes the town of Bodrum an especially appealing holiday destination. There are a number of Turkish bazaars and colourful boutiques spread all around central Bodrum, making this leading destination feel like one giant market or mall.

Those shopping for exclusive fashion boutiques, designer labels, quality leather sandals and exquisite jewellery will find that the stores around the Karada Marina are the place to go. The marina area of Bodrum, close to the yacht club and the Neyzen Tevfik Caddesi, is also home to a good selection of shops selling Turkish carpets and rugs, should you have the room in your suitcase.

Where to Shop

Various markets are staged each week during Bodrum, such as the regular farmer's markets each Tuesday, Friday and Saturday, and the Turgutreis Market each Saturday.

All kinds of items are sold at these markets and not just fruit and vegetables, with favourites including ceramics, paintings, fake watches and traditional Kilim rugs. And of course, look out for the ubiquitous confectionary in the form of Turkish delights.

Shopping at the Oasis has been very popular since this mall opened in 1998 and apart from the shops, there are plenty of eateries and restaurants, a cinema, a library and even a 'Funland' attraction for the younger shoppers. The Oasis also features its very own car park and is sited on the main road between Bodrum and the neighbouring resort of Gumbet.
