(Bodrum, Mugla, Turkey)

Summer beachfront photoBodrum's south-western Turkish setting on the Aegean coast brings with it lovely beaches, coastal attractions and sunny weather, making it perfect for sun seekers. It is always popular with culture-vultures, owing to its many archaeological wonders and mosques, while lofty towers and interesting museums also attract countless tourists to Bodrum.

The premier tourist attraction in Bodrum is the town's main beach, just east of the iconic Saint Peter's Cathedral. To one side of the beach is a plush harbour, while backing it is a busy promenade. The many historical attractions give way to a host of bars and restaurants by night, while the recently opened Dedeman Aquapark provides endless family fun.

Beaches

Bodrum's main attraction is its beaches and there are plenty to choose from within the city, as well as outside. The east part of town has a long, thin beach, which is fine for its convenience but not the best in the area, although the plethora of cafés, bars and clubs behind the beach make it extremely popular. Just a few miles out of town in the village of Torba are some of the region's very finest beaches.

Bodrum Marine Club

Address: Bodrum, Turkey, TR
Good in the high season, the Bodrum Marine Club is a disco with a difference. It resides on a boat that sets sail for a point in the harbour where lights shine up through the glass dance floor. Fish scramble for scraps thrown overboard, making a wonderful sight for those on the dance floor. Be careful of the touts selling worthless tickets for this attraction on the streets.
