(Lanzarote, Canary Islands, Spain)

Photo of the shopping area of Arrecife, LanzaroteAlthough most people visit Lanzarote to enjoy the hot weather and sandy beaches, the island also features excellent shopping facilities and local shops. Many of the best districts in Lanzarote can be found in the Arrecife area - around the Calle Leon Y Castillo (Calle Real), the Puerto Del Carmen - particularly at the Biosfera Shopping Centre, and at the outstanding Deiland Centre in the Playa Honda resort.

Also known throughout the island of Lanzarote for its range of shops, the Costa Teguise contains a cluster of shops along the Playa de las Cucharas, while the Playa Blanca also features a number of notable shopping districts and outdoor markets. Much of Lanzarote and the other Canary Islands offer a range of duty-free goods, with alcohol, cigarettes, perfumes and cosmetics noticeably cheaper than the rest of mainland Spain.
