Lanzarote - A Good Beach
Los Pocillos Beach is close to Matagorda and the Puerto Del Carmen. Los Pocillos literally translated in Spanish as 'puddle' and this beach features a large expanse of water, which is regularly refreshed by the sea and is actually more like a lake than an actual puddle. It is shallow, calm and perfect for paddling - all ages. It was a bit windy though, but still nice and warm.

Lanzarote and the Mirador Del Rio
I recommend the Mirador Del Rio, on the northern side of Lanzarote. The clifftop views from this lookout were nothing short of spectacular and it was such a clear day that we could literally see for miles, right over to La Graciosa, a neighbouring island. You can also see the salt plains, which are named 'Las Salinas del Rio'. If you plan to make an afternoon of it, there are refreshments available.

Camel Riding - What, in Lanzarote?
That's right, we had a holiday in Lanzarote and went on a camel safari, which was a lot of fun, although definitely a bit bizarre and not very Spanish. Camel rides are available close to the Playa Blanca and also near to the Timanfaya volcano. We didn't have to wait long for our ride and it was definitely something to talk about afterwards.
