Those looking for budget accommodation in Sheffield during the summer months of July and August should consider staying in the empty rooms in the self-catering flats at University of Sheffield, which are rented out extremely cheaply at this time of the year. The majority of the university flats can be found on the western side of Sheffield, in the Broomhill district.

Where to Stay

Many central accommodation options consists of small B&Bs, which are especially notable around Montgomery Road and Wostenholm Road, both of which reside in the city's Nether Edge area. These include the Nether Edge Hotel and also the Priory Lodge.

Further accommodation and more mainstream hotels are situated in the Theatreland neighbourhood along George Street and close to the Tudor Square. Hotels are also peppered around the lively Devonshire Quarter, including a number close to Division Street, Devonshire Green, West Street and Wellington Street. Other centrally located accommodation includes hotels in the Cathedral Quarter, around St. James's Street and Paradise Square. For something more unusual, how about a waterfront houseboat hotel at the Victoria Quays, off Wharf Street?

A number of guest houses and small hotels are also nearby and scattered all over the Peak District, being a relatively short drive from Sheffield city centre.
