Situated at the top of Weymouth Road, close to the town centre, Victoria Park is a large town park, with many attractions. Highlights include open expanses of grass, trees, colourful flower beds, a bandstand, seating areas and a large playground for children.

Victoria Park also features a number of sporting facilities, including a large sports field, an immaculate bowling green, tennis courts, a miniature putting golf course and skateboard ramps. This is a particularly popular spot for families and is ideal for picnics.

Owned by the National Trust, Stourhead House and Gardens is just 8 km / 5 miles drive from central Frome and features some of the most spectacular landscaped gardens in the west country. Other attractions for tourists visiting Stourhead include the fine Palladian mansion - with Regency library, paintings and early Chippendale furniture, grottos, three classical temples, a grand bridge, superb vantage points, a restaurant, art gallery and plant centre. Much of Stourhead was originally designed and planted by famous landscape garden Capability Brown and features some superb plant and tree specimens. Stourhead is also renown for its spectacular autumn colours, mainly provided by the large Japanese maples, and also its summer festivals, which culminate in a fireworks display from the island in the centre of the main lake. Nearby are numerous country walks and King Alfred's tour, with is an intriguing red-brick folly that offers stunning panoramic views across Dorset, Wiltshire and Somerset.

Prior Park Landscape Gardens

The National Trust's Prior Park Landscape Gardens are situated on the Frome side of Bath and were created in the 18th century by local entrepreneur Ralph Allen, with advice from Capability Brown and the poet Alexander Pope. Set in a sweeping valley with magnificent views of the city of Bath, the Prior Park Landscape Gardens have many interesting attractions, including the Palladian Bridge, three large lakes and many specimen plants. The gardens are easily reached using Frome's bus network and regular buses travel to central Bath.

Westonbirt Arboretum

Founded almost 200 years ago, Westonbirt Arboretum is one of the most popular tourist attractions nearby Frome and contains a world-class collection of trees and shrubs. Located 61 km / 38 miles from Frome, the arboretum has around 20,000 specimens, covering 600 acres / 243 hectares of landscaped countryside. Visitors and tourist to Westonbirt Arboretum can follow 17 miles / 27 km of trails and admire many of the impressive trees and shrubs, which provide interest throughout the year, even in winter, when the distinctive barks of the birches and maples are clearly visible. Seasonal displays include magnolias, rhododendrons, azaleas, wildflowers in the spring and some truly spectacular autumn colours from Westonbirt's countless Japanese maple specimens, which is what Westonbirt Arboretum is best known for. Other attractions include a summer gardening show, with a number of unusual, contemporary display gardens, a winter walk, with thousands of theatrical lights illuminating many of the trees, a nursery selling many plants, including Japanese maples, a gift shop, a large picnic area, a visitor centre and a restaurant area.
