Frome Markets

(Frome, Somerset, England, UK)

Frome MarketsFull of character and real life, the busy markets in Frome have been an integral part of local town life for over 10,000 years. They provide a great place to find bargains in Frome or to just browse around the wide variety of stalls and enjoy the exciting atmosphere and local banter.

The town's bustling markets range from the very large to a small, discreet collection of stalls, situated in quiet districts of Frome. They are held in many neighborhoods and provide a fun way to shop, for both experienced and novice bargain hunters alike.

It is worth noting that most market stands do not usually accept credit cards for purchases. Prices at Frome markets are not generally fixed and so friendly bartering is often a good idea, to try and reduce the price.

Standerwick Market

The Market Yard was previously the site of Frome's popular cattle market, which was moved out of the town centre in 1990, as it was getting too large. Now sited in a purpose-built site in nearby Standerwick, just 5 km / 3 miles from central Frome, this important market is held every Wednesday. Regular mini-buses provide a shuttle service to the Standerwick market from the town centre.
