Derby East Midlands Airport (EMA) Information

(Derby, Derbyshire, England, UK)

Serving the counties of Derbyshire, Leicestershire, Nottinghamshire and Staffordshire, East Midlands Airport is currently the 12th-busiest air facility within the UK. It has become a hub for select low-cost airlines, which fly to dozens of European and domestic destinations. Manchester Airports Group owns and operates the facility.

Even though recent years have seen a decline in passenger numbers, the terminal currently hosts more than four million visitors each year. In addition, the 3-km / 2-mile long runway handles more than 75,000 aircraft movements per annum, making it one of the busiest single-runway strips in the UK.

Ryanair is the main airline that flies from this airport. However, there are numerous other airlines operating here including Thomson Airways, Thomas Cook Airlines, Jet2.com and Monarch Airlines. Flights to Malaga and Palma de Mallorca are the most common international routes from the terminal.
