For one of the most colourful shopping experiences on offer in Tianjin, head to the Antiques Market at the corner of Shandong Lu and Jinzhou Dao, where many street vendors simply display their goods on blankets around the many narrow back streets.

Similar sights await along the Ancient Culture Street, which is known locally as Guwènhuà, and also at Tianjin's Confucius Temple Antiques Market on Dongmennei Dajie.
