Covering a massive area, the Tianjin Museum is the second-largest building in the whole of China and an impressive facility, with a design in the shape of a giant swan. Inside the building, visitors will find displays and exhibits featuring items from the museum's 150,000-piece collection. The three-storey building is home to many relics and objects, providing visitors with an insight into the political, economic and social background of the city.

This impressive facility is dedicated to introducing visitors to some of the concepts behind the many scientific and technological advances that aid us daily in our 21st century lives. A total of more than 300 different exhibits are on hand, many with interactive aspects that can be appreciated by adults and children alike. A 30-seat planetarium is the highlight of the Tianjin Museum of Science and Technology, giving attendees a fascinating introduction to the stars and planets within our solar system.

Tianjin Natural History Museum

Part of the city since 1914, Tianjin's Natural History Museum is a facility specialising in palaeontology and fossils, and features a collection of almost 400,000 specimens of this nature. Within the collection are four main sub-categories - basic paleontology, animals, plants and paleo-anthropology fossils.

Tianjin Opera Museum

In 1907, the Guangdong Guildhall was built and used as a meeting place for Sun Yat Sen and other revolutionaries of Guangdong. A century later, the same building is now the home of the Tianjin Opera Museum, a facility offering both traditional operatic performances and exhibitions relating to the history of opera within the city. The elaborate and ornately decorated Central Hall is the setting for spring opera performances, while the courtyard is the place to find the museum's varied displays.
